FBC Fuerteventura is at the northern tip of the island on a huge stretch of Natural Reserve sandy beach, with dunes to the rear, and looking out towards Isla de Lobos and facing Lanzarote.
The wind at FBC Fuerteventura blows side shore from the left and increases through the day. The best wingfoiling is to be had between May and August when the remains of the winter swells have died down giving way to flat water/chop riding conditions. The bay is large and open with an unlimited outer riding area and is protected by reefs at both ends. 200m offshore there is a deep water reef forming nice waves, there are some reefs closer in as well, but these can be sailed over. There can be some shore break, and in the spring low tide the shoreline can become quite rocky. There is a sand launch area between two shallow reefs in front of the center. The conditions in March/April are wavier with the remains of the winter swells caused by depressions in the Atlantic. The wind is more unpredictable in the winter as trade winds move further south, but this is when the best waves can be enjoyed.

Want to learn a new sport? FBC Fuerteventura got you covered with two courses: A two-hour course, suitable for those with no prior water sports skills, and 1-4 day course which teaches you about the wind, how to ride a foil, and how to combine foil and wing.
Of course, already more experienced riders can also improve their skills with intermediate and advanced courses. To ensure the best learning conditions, wingfoiling instruction is sometimes done from a boat with no more than 2 students to one instructor.

Fuerteventura is situated 90km off the coast of Africa and is the second largest island of the Canary Islands archipelago after Tenerife. Approximately 110km long and 30km at its widest point, the center of the island is occupied by a plateau averaging 300m in height, flanked on the east and west sides by low ranges of hills. It is the least developed of the Canaries, with 40% of the Island declared a National Park. The landscape has little vegetation and has been likened to something like the planet Mars! At sunset the sleepy dunes are offset by stunning red, ochre and purple mountain landscapes transforming the view.
Corralejo started life as a fishing village and is now a modern tourist resort with accommodation, bars, restaurants and surf shops and a real “surfy” atmosphere. The town is based around a marina, where regular pleasure trips and ferries leave to Isla de Lobos and Lanzarote.
Fuerteventura is a large tourist destination in its own right and although it is slightly lacking in terms of culture, it certainly makes up for it with loads of sporting activities, beautiful landscapes and deserted golden beaches where you can find peace and tranquility. Fuerteventuras ability to offer a variety of conditions and locations throughout the year from top wave sailing spots to flat water slalom and bump and jump makes it a mecca for all you water addicts. The island of Fuerteventura becomes an ideal place for mountain biking due to its semi-arid climate with an annual average temperature of 20 C. The island provides numerous mountain bike routes, roads, tracks and trails that exhibit the beauty of Fuerteventura`s deserted volcanic zones, the endless beaches, as well as long-stretched climbs through the western mountains.
FBC Fuerteventura works in cooperation with a professional biking company on the island called Life Cycles Fuerteventura, operating mainly in the North of the island. They not only offer excellent bikes for rental (with delivery service) but also professional guided mountain bike tours of varying levels to satisfy all needs and abilities and to offer you the perfect workout while experiencing the true beauty of Fuerte’s spectacular sceneries.
The center is open all year round and stocked with the latest Fanatic, North Sails and North Kiteboarding kit. Ben Thomas has had the place since 1988 and knows the best spots and places to go and when! FBC Fuerte is the only center on the island where you can take your kit with you and visit some of the fantastic wave spots around - Cotillo/Glass Beach/Punta Blanca – each one working in its’ own special way depending upon local conditions. You can make your own way there or join one of the jeep safaris arranged by the center. FBC Fuerte also arranges multi-sports packages to include windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing where you will have a chance to experience the incredible surfing to be found on the north track.
FBC Fuerteventura takes their surfing & SUPing very seriously and understands that it is an exciting sport available to all ages and levels. Fuerte has really great surf spots on the island and the center has 4x4 Landrovers to take you to those “off the beaten track” breaks and make sure that you are at the spots which are working the best on any particular day. Surf & SUP instruction to the ISA standard (International Surfing Association) is offered, and transport is arranged in order to take advantage of the best conditions available on any day.
A full range of courses is on offer from beginner to advanced with fully qualified instructors who also hold life saving and first aid certificates. Courses contain no more than 8 students and include equipment, safety cover and transportation.

On the beach there is a very large area for kiters and also really nice learning conditions at the spot with the side shore wind. FBC Fuerte is an official VDWS centre and teaches to a high standard. To ensure the best learning conditions, kite instruction is sometimes done from a boat with no more than 2 to one instructor.
FBC Fuerteventura offers a rescue cover service specifically designed for kiters and we strongly advise all private kiters (people not hiring from the center) to take out this rescue cover.
